Modern Technology with a Classic Look
Professional-grade Cardiod Dynamic Base Station Microphone
The Professional Sound division at Heil Sound proudly presents the "HERITAGE," a high-performance dynamic microphone originally designed for recording studios and commercial broadcast applications; now you can bring Heil Sound's latest dynamic element technology into your station in a delightfully retro work of engineering art that is a tribute to the classical microphone designs of the 1950s.
The HERITAGE is crafted in a molded steel body that first is copper-plated, and then chrome plated using a unique "Showchrome" finish that will make your microphone the sparkling centerpiece of your operating desk.
The HERITAGE exhibits a remarkably natural, clear tone quality, thanks to its special magnet structure with a large (1-1/8") low-pass aluminum voice coil assembly. Special attention was paid to the phasing plug assembly, which has carefully-placed ports that sense audio from the rear of the microphone; this audio is places out-of-phase, resulting in a very linear cardiod response devoid of proximity effect. The HERITAGE has excellent articulation across its frequency range of 50 Hz to 18 kHz.
The dynamic element is mounted in a Sorbothane © shock mount system that reduces handling noise. Its ingenious blue foam windscreen is molded to fit the inside of the microphone shell, providing an effective breath blast filter for the microphone.
The HERITAGE is fitted with a 3-pin XLR connector, and is threaded for the industry-standard 5/8" - 27 mount found on the Heil Sound CB-1 PTT base, as well as the SB-2 and PL-2T Boom mounts. A slide switch activates and deactivates the audio, and a small lock screw is provided, if you want to disable this switch. The HERITAGE is a 600-Ohm microphone, and requires a CC-1-XLR Series adapter cable for connection to your rig.
